Scripture Memory and Uganda! James 1:27

This morning my thoughts are of Uganda and our children at The Home of Champions Orphanage.  Our team leaves for Africa on June 20th and we're busy getting everything ready!  It comes as no surprise that my memory verses are from James!

"Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this:  to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world."  James 1:27 HCSB

"Anyone who sets himself up as "religious" by talking a good game is self-deceived.  This kind of religion is hot air and only hot airReal religion, the kind that passes muster before God, the Father, is this:  Reach out to the homeless and loveless, in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world."  James 1:26-27 The Message

This is my prayer today:  "Father God, I love you so very much.  Thank you for who You are and for all that You are doing.  God, I want to serve you well and bring honor and glory to Your name.  Wherever You have me, be it in Naples or in Africa, I pray that my heart is pure and humble, that my intentions be focused on You and not on anything of this world.  God, let me continue to seek Your face, only Your approval and let my words and actions bring honor and glory to You.  I want to be a blessing to You, Lord.  I love You.  Amen.

Friends, how are you doing?  I love it when you post your verses.  They are a blessing to me and so many others.  What has the Lord pressed on your heart?

Love,
Karen

Karen,
Thank you so much for your last two posts! Absolutely beautiful. My heart is so full and excited as I get ready for Uganda I can hardly get to sleep at night. :)

Here's my verse.

Give me your heart my [daughter], and let your eyes delight in my ways. Proverbs 23:26 NASB

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life-your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life-and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
