As much as I love feasting on God's Word I sometimes struggle in memorizing my verses! Hmmm...maybe it has something to do with my age.
Sometimes I allow life to get in the way and take priority over my time with Jesus. Big mistake. There is nothing or no one more important than my Jesus. I've become very protective of my time with the Lord. I encourage you to do the same. It might mean you have to get up earlier or stay up later but don't miss out on that time with the Lord. He loves you so very much! He delights in spending time with you!
This time I am memorizing Proverbs 4:23-27 from The Message. Since it is so long you may see me repeat these verses next time around. I'm determined to get them down. Thankfully, I have a little bit of help and accountability with this passage. Every Monday I meet with two young women and I have committed to them that I will learn this Scripture! So now I am also committing to YOU! Y'all hold me accountable!
Proverbs 4:23-27
The Message
Keep vigilant watch over your heart;
that's where life starts.
Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth;
avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.
Keep your eyes straight ahead;
ignore all sideshow distractions.
Watch your step,
and the road will stretch out smooth before you.
Look neither right nor left;
leave evil in the dust.
that's where life starts.
Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth;
avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.
Keep your eyes straight ahead;
ignore all sideshow distractions.
Watch your step,
and the road will stretch out smooth before you.
Look neither right nor left;
leave evil in the dust.
I'm loving memorizing His Word with you. Would you please let me know what the Lord is pressing on your hearts?
Your sister in Christ,
Karen
